Title: eSafe Gateway HTML tag Script-filtering Bypass Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
eSafe Gateway is a security utility used for filtering internet content.
It is possible to craft an html file that slips through eSafe Gateway's script filtering feature. There are a number of html tags which allow for script command embedding. Scripting can be placed inside of URLS (using HREF="javascript:"), or they can be embedded as event handlers for events such as 'onLoad' in the <BODY> tag.
An oversight in eSafe Gateway's script-filtering implementation may cause scripting commands which have been embedded in this manner to pass through unfiltered. This evades the protection offered by eSafe Gateway and can lead to script-related attacks reaching clients.
