Title: Sun Solaris DTrace Dynamic Tracing Framework Information Disclosure Vulnerability
Severity: LOW
Description:
Sun Solaris is an enterprise-level UNIX distribution.
Solaris is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability that affects the DTrace dynamic tracing framework because it fails to properly validate access before allowing users to perform certain actions.
The flaw allows a local user or a nonglobal zone to perform kernel-level tracing when granted the 'PRIV_DTRACE_USE'R or 'PRIV_DTRACE_PROC' privileges.
Attackers can exploit this issue to obtain potentially sensitive information that may help in further attacks.
The issue affects Solaris 10 for SPARC and x86 platforms.
