Title: Adobe Flash Media Server and Connect Enterprise Server Multiple Remote Security Vulnerabilities

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

Adobe Flash Media Server and Connect Enterprise Server provide streaming media and a development environment for creating and delivering media applications. The Edge Server is a server component for these applications; it listens on TCP port 1935 and TCP port 19350 by default for incoming requests.

Adobe Flash Media Server and Connect Enterprise Server are prone to multiple remote security vulnerabilities, including:

- A memory-corruption vulnerability affecting the Edge Server when handling malformed RTMP messages. Specifically, when an attacker sends a certain sequence of requests, the server will access memory that has already been freed. This issue is being tracked by CVE-2007-6148,

- Multiple integer-overflow vulnerabilities affecting the Edge Server when processing malformed RTMP messages. Specifically, a user-supplied 32-bit value is used to calculate the amount of memory to be allocated for a buffer. If the 32-bit value is large enough, an integer overflow will occur, causing heap memory to become corrupted. These issues are being tracked by CVE-2007-6149.

- An unspecified security vulnerability. Very few details are known about this issue. We will update this BID as soon as more information becomes available. This issue is being tracked by CVE-2007-6431.

Remote attackers can exploit these issues to gain SYSTEM-level privileges on affected computers. Successfully exploiting these issues will facilitate in the complete compromise of affected computers. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in a denial-of-service condition.

These issues affect the following:

Adobe Connect Enterprise Server 6 prior to SP3
Flash Media Server prior to 2.0.5.

Affected Products:

  • Adobe Connect Enterprise Server 6
  • Adobe Connect Enterprise Server 6 SP1
  • Adobe Connect Enterprise Server 6 SP2
  • Adobe Flash Media Server 2.0.0
  • Adobe Flash Media Server 2.0.1
  • Adobe Flash Media Server 2.0.2
  • Adobe Flash Media Server 2.0.3
  • Adobe Flash Media Server 2.0.4
