Title: Beck IPC GmbH IPC@CHIP HTTP DoS Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

IPC@CHIP is a single chip embedded web server by Beck IPC GmbH.

A denial of service condition exists in IPC@CHIP. Submitting an unusally long HTTP request could cause the host to stop responding. It has been reported that the DoS condition will rectify itself after a short period of time.

If an attacker continuously submitted a long HTTP request, the length of the DoS condition would be dependant on the number of times the attacker submitted the request.

A restart of the server may help to rectify this issue.

* Conflicting reports exist. The vendor feels that the reported issue is not possible. The following is from Ernest Schlösser <es@bcl.de> of BECK IPC GmbH: "Downtime is not longer as it takes to process the request. No misbehaviour could be reproduced."
