Title: SAPlpd and SAPSprint Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
SAP GUI is an interface to the SAP database application. It includes SAPlpd, a line-printer daemon for printing interoperability for UNIX operating systems.
SAPlpd and SAPSprint are prone to multiple remote vulnerabilities:
1. A flaw with the '01 31' lpd command. This issue is related to 'memcpy()'.
2. A flaw with the '02 32' lpd command. This issue is related to 'memcpy()' and 'sprintf()'.
3. A flaw with the '03 04 33 34' lpd command. This issue is related to 'sprintf()' combined with multiple 'strcpy()' calls.
4. A flaw with the '05 35' lpd command. This issue is related to mutliple 'strcpy()' calls.
5. An unspecified denial-of-service flaw with the '53' lpd command.
The first four issues are likely buffer-overflow vulnerabilities leading to remote code execution.
No further information is currently available. We will update this BID as more information emerges.
Successfully exploiting these issues allows remote attackers to crash the service and potentially to execute arbitrary code. This may facilitate the complete compromise of affected computers.
The following versions are affected:
- SAPlpd as included with SAP GUI 7.10 (and earlier)
- Versions prior to SAPSprint 1018
This issue is reportedly documented in SAP Note 1138934.
Affected Products:
- SAP SAP GUI 7.10
- SAP SAPLPD
- SAP SAPLPD 6.28
- SAP SAPSPRINT
