Title: Titan FTP Server USER/PASS Commands Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
Titan FTP Server is an FTP implementation that is available for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Titan FTP Server is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer. Specifically, this issue presents itself when overly long arguments are passed through the 'USER' and 'PASS' commands.
An attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level privileges. Successfully exploiting this issue will result in the complete compromise of affected computers. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial of service.
We do not know which versions are affected at this time; we will update this BID as more information emerges.
