Title: Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router Remote Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router is prone to an authentication-bypass vulnerability because the device fails to properly check authorization before it allows users to perform certain administration actions.

Specifically, the application does not restrict access to the 'SaveCfgFile.cgi' script that is used to modify the router's configuration files. Attackers can access the script without valid user credentials and reconfigure the device.

Successful exploits will allow unauthorized attackers to gain access to administrative functionality and completely compromise vulnerable devices; other attacks are also possible.

The issue affects firmware version 3.01.53; other versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Belkin F5D9230-4
