Title: Pacific Software Carello Shopping Cart Command Execution Vulnerability
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
Pacific Software Carello is a shopping cart application for e-commerce enabled sites. A vulnerability exists in Carello which could enable a remote user to execute arbitrary code.
The flaw exists in the way Carello.dll executes Carello scripts, it uses the system's physical path rather than the relative path to the web root; therefore, execution of arbitrary code will be run with the privileges of the web server.
If a user submits a specially crafted HTTP request composed of malformed data, an invalid memory request is made by inetinfo.exe. The end result is that all system resources are consumed by inetinfo.exe, refusing any new HTTP connections. If the specified malformed data contained code, the code would be executed with the privileges of the web server.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a complete compromise of the host.
