Title: Mongrel 'DirHandler' Class Directory Traversal Information Disclosure Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Mongrel is an HTTP server implemented in Ruby and available for various platforms.
The application is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input. Specifically, the issue occurs in the 'DirHandler' class in the 'lib/mongrel/handlers.rb' script. Attackers can exploit this issue by supplying '/.%252e' directory-traversal sequences in URIs.
An attacker can exploit this issue to view sensitive files within the context of the webserver process. Information obtained may lead to other attacks.
This issue affects Mongrel 1.0.4 and versions prior to 1.1.3.

- Apple Mac OS X 10.4.11
