Title: MS Index Services and Indexing Services Path Disclosure Vulnerability

Description:

Index Server 2.0 is a utility included in the NT 4.0 Option Pack. The functionality provided by Index Service has been built into Windows 2000 as Indexing Services.

A vulnerability exists which could enable a remote attacker to gain path information to the web directory. Requesting a non-existent internet data query file along with a known directory, will disclose an error message with the phyiscal path of the requested web directory.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could enable a remote user to gain access to confidential information, which may assist in further attacks against the host.
