Title: PHCDownload 'search.php' SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
PHCDownload is PHP-based application for downloading remote files.
The application is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sanitize user-supplied input to the 'string' parameter of the 'search.php' script. Attacker-supplied input will be passed unsanitized to the database in an SQL-query and will be returned to the user in the resulting dynamically generated page.
An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks. Attackers may also exploit this issue to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.
PHCDownload 1.1.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- PHPCredo PHCDownload 1.1.0
