Title: CoolPlayer 'CPLI_ReadTag_OGG()' Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
CoolPlayer is a media player application for the Windows operating system.
CoolPlayer is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data.
This issue affects the 'CPLI_ReadTag_OGG()' function of the 'CPI_PlaylistItem.c' source file when handling data in the 'ctag' comment field of OGG files.
Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed exploit attempts likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
CoolPlayer 217 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
