Title: 2z Project Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

2z Project is a PHP-based news manager.

Since it fails to adequately sanitize user-supplied input., 2z Project is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities:

- Multiple HTML-injection issues affect the 'contentshort' and 'contentfull' parameters of the 'index.php' script.

- An HTML-injection issue affects the 'content' parameter of the '2z/admin.php' script.

- A cross-site scripting vulnerability affects the 'action' parameter of the 'index.php' script.

- An arbitrary-file-upload vulnerability affects the 'newavatar' and 'newphoto' parameters of the user profile page.

Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in the context of the affected site. Successful exploits could allow an attacker to compromise the application, steal cookie-based authentication credentials, or control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

2z Project 0.9.6.1 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • 2z Project 2z Project 0.9.6.1
