Title: miniBB BB_FUNC_SEARCH.PHP SQL Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

miniBB is a web-based bulletin board implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data before using it in an SQL query. Specifically, the application fails to sanitize the 'table' parameter of the 'bb_func_search.php' script.

A successful exploit may allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.

Note that this vulnerability is exploitable only if the 'register_globals' directive is enabled in the local site's PHP configuration.

This issue affects miniBB 2.1; other versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • MiniBB MiniBB 2.1
