Title: WordPress Unfiltered_HTML Field Name HTML Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

WordPress allows users to generate news pages and web-logs dynamically; it is implemented in PHP with a MySQL database.

The application is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. This issue affects data sent to the 'post.php' or 'page.php' scripts, which contain a field named 'no_filter'. The application fails to adequately sanitize arbitrary data inside this field. This input will be stored persistently on the affected site and may be rendered by a victim user when the page is viewed.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would execute in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

Versions prior to WordPress 2.2.3 are vulnerable.
