Title: CounterPath X-Lite SIP Soft Phone Malformed Packet Denial of Service Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
CounterPath X-Lite is a SIP softphone for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
X-Lite is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability because the application fails to properly handle malformed data.
Specifically, the vulenrability occurs when the application processes a malformed SIP message containing an 'INVITE' or 'MESSAGE' without the 'Content-type' field.
Successful exploits can allow remote attackers to crash the application, resulting in denial-of-service conditions.
This issue affects X-Lite 3.0; other versions may also be affected.
