Title: Inframail Post Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

An invalid POST command, containing at least 276 characters, can cause the server to copy the input past the end of the input buffer.

As a result, the excessive data copied onto the stack can overwrite critical parts of the stack frame such as the calling function's return address. This will halt the process, requiring it to be restarted, and effectively allows a remote attacker to carry out a denial of service attack against Inframail.

An additional consideration is that, since this data is supplied by the user, it could potentially be a crafted so that it alters the program's flow of execution. If properly exploited, this may yield an elevation of privileges to the attacker.
