Title: SWSoft ASPSeek s.cgi Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

A buffer overflow in ASPSeek versions 1.0.0 through to 1.0.3 allows for arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the web server. The problem lies in the code that processes the "tmpl" variable, in s.cgi. This can be exploited by submitting a string greater than 5148 characters in length. Successful exploitation can provide arbitrary command execution with the privilege of the web server, often user "nobody".

Affected Products:

  • SWSoft ASPSeek 1.0.0
  • SWSoft ASPSeek 1.0.1
  • SWSoft ASPSeek 1.0.3
