Title: TYPSoft FTP Server Directory Traversal Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
TYPSoft FTP Server is vulnerable to directory traversal attacks, permitting access outside the FTP root.
Although the program allows a connected user to be restricted to a given directory, it improperly allows a remote user to gain access to the entire directory tree of the host running TYPSoft FTP Server.
By including relative path references (ie '/.../', '/../' or '*.*' sequences) in a FTP GET, ls or CD command, an attacker can obtain files outside the permitted directory structure.
Depending on the files obtained, this can supply an attacker with sensitive system data including directory information, password files or other exploitable data which could be used to further compromise the security of the vulnerable system.
