Title: KVIrc URI Handler Remote Command Execution Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

KVIrc is an IRC client available for various operating systems.

KVIrc is prone to a remote command-execution vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input. The vulnerability occurs in the 'parseIrcURL()' function of the 'src/kvirc/kernel/kvi_ircurl.cpp' file. Specifically, the application fails to sanitize parts of the URI when building commands for KVIrc's internal script system.

An attacker can exploit this issue by injecting and executing commands using the KVIrc script system.

Successfully exploiting this issue would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands within the context of the affected application.
