Title: Microsoft IIS Multiple Invalid URL Request DoS Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Due to the way Microsoft IIS handles specially formed URLs, IIS is subject to a denial of service condition.
Due to a flaw in the implementation of a specific code module installed by default in IIS 5.0, requesting a specially crafted URL of a specific length multiple times could cause the service to fail.
This problem in IIS is caused by a memory allocation error, which leads to an access violation error when repeated multiple times.
A restart of the service is required in order to gain normal functionality.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could assist in further attacks against the victim host.
