Title: Provideo Camimage Class ISSCamControl.DLL ActiveX Control Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Provideo Camimage Class is an ActiveX control that controls security cameras.
The application is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer.
This issue occurs when excessive data is passed to the 'URL' method of the 'ISSCamControl.dll' library.
This issue resides in the ActiveX control with CLSID: 'AA0FB75C-C50E-47B6-B7E0-3B9C3FAA8AC4'.
Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed exploit attempts likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
This issue affects Provideo Camimage Class 1.0.1.5; other versions may also be affected.
