Title: Buttercup WFM Title Parameter Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Buttercup WFM (Web File Manager) is a file manager implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly handle user-supplied input to the 'title' parameter of the 'index.php' script. This input will be echoed to a user of the application.

An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks.

This issue is reported to affect the Buttercup WFM - May 2007 edition. Other versions could also be affected.
