Title: 2z Project Rating.PHP Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

2z Project is a PHP-based content manager.

The application is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user input to the 'rating' parameter of the 'rating.php' script.

To exploit this issue, attackers must pass valid data to the 'category' and 'altname' parameters in addition to their payload.

Exploiting this vulnerability could allow an attacker to perform cross-site scripting attacks on unsuspecting users in the context of the affected website. As a result, the attacker may be able to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks.

2z Project 0.9.5 is reported vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • 2z Project 2z Project 0.9.5
