Title: Moby Netsuite Remote Denial of Service Attack
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Moby Netsuite is a free Windows webserver from Mobydisk.
The server is vulnerable to a denial of service attack. Excessive user-supplied input in URLs submitted to the server causes a buffer overflow, crashing the program, requiring it to be restarted.
An unverified potential outcome of this overflow is that excessive data copied onto the stack could overwrite critical parts of the stack frame such as the calling functions' return address. Since this data is supplied by the user it can be made to alter the program's flow of execution. If this were the case, the attacker could potentially execute arbitrary instructions on the server.
Affected Products:
- Mobydisk Moby Netsuite 1.0.0
