Title: Red Hat Directory Server Multiple Cross Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Red Hat Directory Server version is a directory service based on LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).

The application is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input. Specifically, these issues affect the 'context' parameter of the following scripts:

/dsgw//bin/search
/dsgw/bin/lang
/dsgw/bin/newentry

An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities to perform cross-site scripting attacks on unsuspecting users in the context of the affected website. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Red Hat Directory Server 7.1 is reported vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • RedHat Directory Server 7.1 SP3
