Title: 3Com TippingPoint IPS Remote Denial Of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

TippingPoint IPS is an intrusion-prevention system for 3Com networking devices.

The application is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulneraiblity because of an improperly coded loop that can can result in an endless loop when handling malformed input.

This issue occurs when handling multiple packets to port 80; the packets contain an incrementing source port.

A successful attack will cause CPU processes to be consumed on devices running the affected software. This will cause the device to stop responding after a certain period of time, denying service to legitimate users.
