Title: Plesk Login.PHP3 Directory Traversal Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Plesk is a server-management application targeted at hosting providers.

The application is prone to a directory-traversal vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'locale_id' parameter of 'login.php3'. The issue occurs when specially crafted HTTP GET requests contain directory-traversal strings ('../').

An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to retrieve arbitrary files from the vulnerable system in the context of the application. Information obtained may aid in further attacks.

Affected Products:

  • Plesk Plesk for Windows 7.6.1
  • Plesk Plesk for Windows 8.1.0
  • Plesk Plesk for Windows 8.1.1
