Title: Metamod-P Safevoid_Vsnprintf() Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Metamod-P is a DLL broker allowing for the dynamic management of Half-Life game mods.
Metamod-P is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability. Remote attackers may exploit an unspecified vulnerability that resides in the 'safevoid_vsnprintf()' function. Specifically, this issue occurs when a user sends an overly long string as a meta command to the function.
Exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to crash the application, effectively denying service to legitimate users.
Although Metamod-P runs on both Windows and Linux systems, this issue is reported to affect only the Windows version.
Metamod-P version 1.19p29 is vulnerable to this issue; previous versions may be affected as well.
Affected Products:
- Metamod-P Metamod-P 1.19.p29
