Title: Snitz Forums 2000 Pop_Profile.ASP HTML Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Snitz Forums 2000 is a web-based forum application implemented in ASP.

The application is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. This issue affects the 'MSN' input field of the 'pop_profile.asp' script. This input will be stored persistently on the affected site and may be rendered by a victim user when the page is viewed.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would execute in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

Version 3.4.06 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • Snitz Forums 2000 Snitz Forums 2000 3.4.06
