Title: IBM DB2 Fenced UserID Unspecified Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Severity: LOW

Description:

IBM DB2 is prone to an unspecified authentication-bypass vulnerability.

The fenced group 'db2fadm1' is a default user group that is designed to restrict user acctions. Due to an unspecified error, the software fails to effectively restrict directory access to users with fenced userids.

An attacker could exploit this issue to gain unauthorized access to privileged directories. This may allow the attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information that may aid in further attacks.

Versions prior to 8.1 FixPak 14 and 9.1 FixPak 2 are vulnerable.
