Title: NukeSentinel Multiple SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
NukeSentinel is a clan-management addon for PHP-Nuke; it is implemented in PHP.
The application is prone to multiple SQL-injection vulnerabilities because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'admin' cookie parameter used by the 'nsbypass.php' script and the 'Client-IP' parameter of the 'nukesentinel.php' script before using it in an SQL query.
Exploiting these vulnerabilities could permit remote attackers to pass malicious input to database queries, resulting in the modification of query logic or other attacks.
A successful exploit could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.
NOTE: The vendor refutes some of the reported issues, indicating that certain scripts and parameters are not available in the affected version or require specific conditions to become vulnerable.
UPDATE (September 28, 2007): This BID originally specified the 'tid' parameter of the 'nsbypass.php' script as vulnerable. This has been corrected. Furthermore, the issue affecting the 'nsbypass.php' script has been addressed. Please see the solutions and references for more information.
