Title: ACGVAnnu Arbitrary User Password Change Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

ACGVannu is a web-based content manager implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to a vulnerability that may permit attackers to change arbitrary passwords.

The problem occurs because the application fails to properly identify a user before allowing a password change. An attacker can supply an arbitrary user 'ID' to the 'index2.php' script during a password change request, and then change the password for the given ID.

Exploiting this issue may allow an attacker to change an arbitrary user's password, bypass the authentication mechanism, and gain unauthorized access to the affected application. This may lead to other attacks.

This issue affects version 1.3; other versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • ACGV ACGVannu 1.3
