Title: Ulogd Unspecified Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Ulogd (usermode log daemon) is a open-source syslog-based application for UNIX and Linux.
The affected daemon is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized memory buffer.
This issue is related to the improper length calculation of an unspecified string.
Technical details regarding this issue are currently unavailable. This BID will be updated when more information becomes available.
Exploiting this issue allows attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of the affected daemon. Failed attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
