Title: Movable Type Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Movable Type is a web-log application written in PERL and PHP.
Movable Type is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data.
An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to perform cross-site scripting attacks on those sites that have disabled the 'nofollow' plugin. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
Movable Type 3.33 is affected by this issue; prior versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Movable Type Movable Type 3.33
