Title: @lex Guestbook Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

@lex Guestbook is a guestbook application written in PHP.

The application is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. These issues include:

- A local file-include vulnerability affecting the 'alex_livre_ext' parameter of the 'livre_include.php' script.
- An SQL-injection vulnerability affecting the 'lang' parameter of the 'index.php' script.

An attacker could exploit these issues to execute server-side script code, compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation. Information gained could aid in further attacks.

@lex Guestbook 4.0.2 and prior versions are vulnerable to these issues.

NOTE: The vendor refutes these issues, stating that the vulnerabilities do not exist as specified.

Affected Products:

  • @lexPHPTeam @lex Guestbook 3.12.0
  • @lexPHPTeam @lex Guestbook 3.13.0
  • @lexPHPTeam @lex Guestbook 4.0.1
  • @lexPHPTeam @lex Guestbook 4.0.2
