Title: Adobe Reader AcroPDF.DLL ActiveX Control Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Acrobat Reader is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability.

The ActiveX control with a CLSID of {CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000} from the 'acropdf.dll' library is prone to a denial-of-service issue. Specifically, when the 'src' object of this control is set to an excessively long string of approximately two megabytes, this issue will be triggered.

An attacker can exploit this issue to trigger denial-of-service conditions in Internet Explorer or other applications that use the vulnerable ActiveX control.

Acrobat Reader version 7.0.8.0 is vulnerable to this issue; other versions may also be affected.
