Title: PHP-Update Admin Upload.PHP Arbitrary File Upload Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
PHP-Update is a content manager implemented in PHP.
The application is prone to an arbitrary file-upload vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input to the 'admin/upload.php' script. Specifically, when a file is uploaded, the application fails to sufficiently handle POST data where the 'logincookie[user]' parameter is given a value of '' and the 'rights[7]' parameter is given a value of '1'.
Exploiting this issue could allow an attacker to upload and execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected webserver process. This may help the attacker compromise the application; other attacks are possible.
PHP-Update 2.7 and prior versions are vulnerable.
