Title: Wordpress Template.PHP HTML Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Wordpress is a web-log application implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'file' parameter of the 'template.php' script.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would execute in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

Versions prior to 2.0.6 are vulnerable to this issue.

Affected Products:

  • Gentoo Linux
  • Gentoo Linux 1.4.0
