Title: Xt-News Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

XT-News is a web-based news script implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input.

Specifically, these issues include:

- Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in the 'id_news' parameter of the 'show_news.php' and the 'add_comment.php' scripts.

- A SQL-injection vulnerability in the 'id_news' parameter of the 'show_news.php' script.

An attacker could exploit these issues to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.

Affected Products:

  • DreaXTeam Xt-News 0.1
