Title: WinFTP Server Multiple Remote Denial of Service Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

WinFTP Server is a multithreaded FTP server for multiple Microsoft Windows platforms.

The application is prone to multiple remote denial-of-service vulnerabilities. The problems occur when the application receives an excessive value to any of the following commands; other commands may also be vulnerable:

PASV
LIST
USER
PORT

A successful exploit allows a remote attacker to crash the application, denying further service to legitimate users. It is not known at this time if these issues can be exploited to execute arbitrary code; this BID will be updated as further information becomes available.

These issues affect version 2.0.2; other versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Win FTP Server Win FTP Server 2.0.2
