Title: Allied Telesis AT-9000/24 Ethernet Switch Unauthorized Management VLAN Access Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Allied Telesis AT-9000/24 devices are managed Ethernet switches supporting up to gigabit network speeds.

Allied Telesis AT-9000/24 switches are prone to an unauthorized-management-VLAN-access vulnerability.

The switches are documented to allow access to the management interfaces only through untagged ports configured in the Default VLAN (ID 1). When multiple VLANs are configured, attackers can still access the management VLAN by guessing the IP configuration that the management interface is configured to respond to. This issue occurs because the switch software fails to properly limit access to the management interface.

Exploiting this issue allows attackers with access to any port on affected switches to access the management VLAN. This may aid them in further attacks.

Affected Products:

  • Allied-telesis AT-9000/24
