Title: BNBForm Automessage File Retrieval Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

BNBForm is a form-to-email processing script provided by BigNoseBird.com. Versions of the script (bnbform.cgi) prior to 4.0 allowed arbitrary files to be mailed to an attacker by submitting a request with the "automessage" variable specifying the file to retrieve (provided the web server has access to the file). This variable is normally used by an HTML form to specify a file containing a message that is mailed to a user when the form data is submitted. Consequences could include retrieval of sensitive information, gathering information for future attacks, etc.

Affected Products:

  • Big Nose Bird BNBForm 1.0.0
  • Big Nose Bird BNBForm 2.0.0
  • Big Nose Bird BNBForm 3.0.0
