Title: Asp-Nuke Community Cookie Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Asp-Nuke Community is a content manager implemented in ASP.

Asp-Nuke Community is prone to a privilege-escalation vulnerability due to a design error.

Specifically, the application allows an attacker to increase account privileges through the saved authentication session cookie. By altering the contents of the saved session cookie, the attacker may obtain unspecified account privileges and access potentially sensitive information. This may lead to other attacks.

Successful exploits may allow remote authenticated attackers to gain access to the vulnerable application using elevated account privileges.

Asp-Nuke Community 1.5 and prior versions are reported vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 0.0.0RC1
  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 0.0.0RC2
  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 0.0.0RC3
  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 1.0.0
  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 1.2.0
  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 1.3.0
  • ASP-Nuke ASP-Nuke 1.5
