My Firewall Plus is a security application written for the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The application is prone to a local privilege-escalation vulnerability.
A local attacker may terminate the 'explorer.exe' application and launch the 'iexplore.exe' application with SYSTEM-level privileges. The attacker can then use the 'Test Your Firewall' portion of the application to execute arbitrary machine-code with SYSTEM-level privileges.
A successful exploit could result in the complete compromise of the affected computer. Failed attempts would cause denial-of-service conditions.
Version 5.0 Build 1119 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
