Title: PHP-Nuke Journal Module Search.PHP SQL Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

PHP-Nuke is a web forum implemented in PHP. The Journal module is included with PHP-Nuke and adds journaling functionality to the application.

The application is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data to the 'forwhat' parameter of the 'search.php' script before using it in an SQL query.

A successful exploit may allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.

PHP-Nuke 7.9 and prior versions are vulnerable.
