Title: KMail HTML Element Handling Denial Of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

KMail is a mail client for the KDE desktop environment.

KMail is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability because the application fails to handle specially crafted emails.

The problem occurs when parsing HTML tags. In particular, a specific combination of 'table' and 'frameset' tags embedded in a message can lead to a segmentation fault.

An attacker can exploit this issue to crash the affected application, denying service to legitimate users.

Note that the mail client must be configured to render HTML email before an exploit can occur.

KMail 1.9.1 and prior versions are vulnerable to this issue.
