Description:

eDirectory is a server platform for directory services and identity management; it is distributed by Novell. It runs on enterprise-level implementations of Microsoft Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, and GNU/Linux.

The Novell eDirectory Server is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability because the 'eMBoxClient.jar' iManager prints confidential user passwords to a unspecified log file. The exact nature of the password disclosure is currently unknown. This BID will be updated as more information becomes available.

The flaw presents itself in eDirectory version 8.7.3.8; other versions may also be affected.
