Title: Microsoft Winsock Gethostbyname Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Description:
The Microsoft Winsock API is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because of a boundary-condition error that is exposed when the API handles externally supplied data.
This issue can occur when the API is invoked via a malicious file or web page that is sufficient to trigger the vulnerability. This can cause process memory to be corrupted with attacked-supplied data. If the exploit is successful, attacker-supplied code will execute, completely compromising the affected computer.
