Description:
Internet Explorer is a web client distributed with and available for Microsoft Windows.
Internet Explorer is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability.
The vulnerability occurs in the 'StartColorStr' and 'EndColorStr' properties of the 'DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Gradient' ActiveX object. An attacker may set these properties to a very large value to cause a stack overflow.
An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to crash Internet Explorer and deny service to users.
Internet Explorer 6 SP2 is prone to this issue; other versions may also be vulnerable.
